Studies suggest that 70% of parents want to spend more time with their
children. When children are queried, the
"ideal vacation" most always includes "spending time with
family." This weekend is an
opportunity to unplug from an over-programmed lifestyle, and enjoy activities
and workshops based on the award-winning Living Values Educational Program. Educators, parents, and grandparents are
invited to bring their children ages 5 and above to experience quality family
time in the tranquil setting of Peace
Village. The weekend will feature a special children's program, as well as workshops
for parents on 9 essential skills for creating Peace at Home. Classroom educators will experience a variety
of values activities that can be incorporated in schools and after-school
programs for children and young adults. Time
will be provided for reflection, sharing, and inter-generational exchange. Outdoor activities will include picnics,
games, nature walks, art, music, and plenty of free time for meeting new
friends.
Parents are reminded that at
all times they have full responsibility for all of their children – young

From: Friday, July 10, 2009To: Sunday, July 12, 2009
TRANSFORM RELATIONSHIPS - TRANSFORM YOURSELF
One of the greatest gifts we can give to Another and Ourselves is the Gift of Total Listening.
As a nation we have the technical expertise to create a vast web of communications using sophisticated technology, but as individuals our exchanges with each other are many times unsatisfying and unhealthy.
Learn how to use this underused human resource. When we listen effectively we have a better chance of being in charge of any situation and also influencing the outcome.
Understanding, learning and tuning into the skills of listening can open new
doors and windows in our relationships. As we listen with a win-win intention,
we feel love for the other and also feel we are loved. Through the act of listening in this way, we create many benefits:
Of all the time we spend in communication, by far the greatest is in listening........and it is the least used and understood. 40 % Listening 35 % Talking 16 % Reading 9 % Writing
Deepen ongoing relationships. Understand and accept others more Practice an easy, effective way of making new
dynamic relationships Increase capacity to help others to heal their
emotional nature and understand themselves. Even understand the self at a deeper level.
Be ready to experience Silence, exercises, meditation and a wonder filled look into the self.

SPIRITUALITY IN MOVEMENT - Exploring movement from the inside out
24July
Three movement disciplines will be covered in this retreat: Egoscue Technique, Ashtanga Yoga, and The Pilates MethodFrom: Friday, July 24, 2009To: Sunday, July 26, 2009
True health & wellness begin at the level of
consciousness – at the level of being.
Spirituality is the art of being – a method for ensuring the well-being of the
spirit – the soul. It is the understanding and application of spiritual
knowledge and principles, such as non-violence, respect and benevolence, which
automatically enhance how we relate to and care for our bodies. And since it
is in fact the soul that moves the body, a state of spiritual health can help
to create movement that is naturally flowing & joyful. In this unique retreat we will be integrating the teachings of Raja Yoga
Meditation with three movement disciplines to explore & experience the innate beauty
& power of the soul.
Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic
sequence of movements unfolding with spiritual intelligence.
Egoscue Technique has
simple and effective routines that transform pain into power and hurt into
heart, so that you can feel at home again in your body & soul.
The
Pilates Method uses the power of the mind to develop & empower the body's
innate capacity for healthy, flowing movement.
Facilitators: Julien Gagnon founded a school of Ashtanga Yoga where the mission is to focus on overall
well being, encompassing the body and the spirit. Julie Price is a Postural Alignment Therapist using the Egoscue
Method. Tanya Rich appears in
productions at theaters across North America
and overseas, and enjoys teaching Pilates and participating in programs that encourage spiritual
understanding.
Each of the facilitators is a certified instructor in
his/her respective discipline
Through Raja Yoga MeditationFrom: Friday, July 24, 2009To: Sunday, July 26, 2009
Learn Raja Yoga, a practical and simple form of meditation
and spiritual understanding that sets the foundation for ongoing spiritual
development. It is about discovering, exploring and understanding one’s inner
world of thoughts, feelings, attitudes, values, motives and intentions and
developing the spiritual skills / inner strengths to face the realities of the
outer world. It is the art of bringing inner and outer realities into balance
starting from the inside out. Becoming more aware of your internal environment
enables you to check, choose and change. You will realize that you always have
a choice in what you think. You will learn to be more kind, tolerant and
accepting of yourself and others. In this process you will start to recognize
your spiritual independence and realize the inner resources that you have and
your ability and responsibility to use them to create a better quality of life. The retreat also includes ways to restore your relationship with your Higher
Power, understanding the universal law of karma and the application of
spiritual powers.

I need to be ready for suddenly. I need to be internally strong and stable so
that when things happen suddenly I can face them with fortitude and clarity and
respond with grace. President Obama referred to the gathering clouds and raging
storms of our times in his inaugural address, saying that our present
difficulties are indicators of crisis. He called upon us as a country to remind
ourselves of our history of strength and victory. We as individuals must also
do that -- remember the times of our resilience and call upon that for the
times ahead.
This retreat is for those of you who have attended general
retreats at Peace
Village, and want to know
more of the secrets of spiritual understanding of the Brahma Kumaris as they
apply to practical living. This retreat will help us to deal with change
and be ready for the sudden events in our lives, responding positively and
transforming the challenge to see the opportunity.
Pre-requisite required – To register for this retreat you must have

FOUR FACES OF WOMAN - Leading a Life of Courage & Joy
21Aug
The Four Faces is a simple and profound model of freedom, power and love, of living and leading…for every woman who feels called to participate. From: Friday, August 21, 2009To: Sunday, August 23, 2009
The ‘Four Faces of Woman’ program began in 1996 and has traveled to over 40
countries, enlightening the spirits of tens of thousands of women of all ages
and backgrounds. The ‘Four Faces’ are symbolic of the stages of conscious
understanding and identity women can go through in their lives. This retreat is experiential and creative, providing practical and
enjoyable tools that we can use to empower ourselves spiritually. It
provides a framework in which each of us discovers our own story, our
limitations, and unconscious drivers as well as our strengths and untapped magnificence.
These faces offer us clarity, understanding, and choice as we undertake
a personal and collective journey towards greater empowerment.
The Eternal Face is our natural, free, and creatively expressive way of
moving through life.
The Traditional Face captures our conditioning, and encourages us to
consciously make choices regarding beliefs, values, and behaviors which are no
longer useful.
The Modern Face is the stage in which we are motivated to change for the
better, yet unconsciously, unwittingly we are captives of the past, recreating
that which we so desperately seek to leave behind.
The Shakti Face is the archetype we tap to access our creative power.
Pure transformational energy. Mythology refers to this Face as the enlightened
feminine, the warrior goddess and the great ‘mother’.
LANDSCAPES OF THE SPIRIT 'COMMUNICATION SERIES'
Communication is at the very foundation of our relationships. We reveal ourselves and create our world and relationships in language. This new series on communication includes three communication retreats offered this year. . . .From: Friday, August 21, 2009To: Sunday, August 23, 2009
Often we find ourselves faced with having to talk about
difficult things with those we care about the most. Fearing damage to the relationship, we may
suppress what we want to say and find ourselves troubled inside. Or, we may plunge ahead pouring out our
strong feelings in ways that damage the fragile strands of relationship and
leave us feeling sad or angry. In this retreat we will focus on the ways to have the most
difficult conversations with those we care about the most in ways that leave us
and the other feeling whole and heard.

mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. The program will include lectures,
story-telling, large and small group conversations, meditation, reflection,
silence periods, and opportunities to just relax, be with nature, and with yourself. Give yourself this special gift of an opportunity that can open

Take this unique opportunity to plunge into the depths of understanding of
why we act as we do. Are you truly free to act according to your own high
principles or are there other forces that undermine you and create a gap
between what you believe and what you actually do? We will be using the
powerful tool of structured dialogue to discover subtle truths about ourselves and
each other so that we are empowered to live and act according to the values in
which we truly and deeply believe.

pulled out from under us and can be very painful and even debilitating. The Art of Living:Beyond
Loss & Grief offers a safe and

Calling All Artists!From: Saturday, November 07, 2009To: Monday, November 09, 2009
What is the essence of an artist? Of creativity itself? And what does this fundamental nature of the artist have to offer to a world that, for so many, is a place of increasing fear, uncertainty, confusion and hopelessness? How can the artist serve a world that cries out to see, hear, and feel hope, upliftment and courage? How am I “as an artist“ being enlightened, encouraged and empowered to answer this call? The Artist Within is a retreat that explores the intimate relationship between spirituality and creativity. It is an opportunity to explore and deepen my experience of that naturally creative, living energy that exists at the core of every human being. By empowering this “authentic self” and bringing it into expression, I become a positive force for change in the world.
Join us as we take the journey from artist to angel.
